Home Builders Association of Jackson members should take notice of 7 special companies that have committed to being Foundation Sponsors for 2011. They have many things in common: the understanding of marketing their companies, involvement and active participation in their industry, successful attitudes, and strong company support for the home building industry, among many others. It’s not a surprise that these companies have been supporters of HBAJ not just this year but for many years.
Atmos Energy is a huge supporter of the Parade of Homes and encourages their many members to be involved in committees and to attend HBAJ events. Marsha Barber shares her wisdom with the HBAJ staff on specific projects as well as brainstorming ideas for the future. Atmos brings many talented employees as members including Neal Mashburn, Bob Kerley, Chip Shotts, Willie Alexander and Mildred Nelson. They build solid relationships with our members.
BankPlus has been a marketing plan supporter and a foundation level sponsor even before there was such a sponsor. They have consistently supported every HBAJ event. Wilson Eatherly has served many volunteer hours as a committee chair on the Associates Council as well as serving on the Board of Directors. Damon Williams and Gabe Baldwin have also dedicated volunteer hours by attending membership meetings and speaking during Panel seminars, not to mention the hours Fountain Barksdale has volunteered to the Association over the years.
BancorpSouth has given HBAJ several active members as well as financial contributions for many years. Joe Robertson has served on the Board for countless years and also served as Associate Vice President. Charley Edwards, Barbara Edwards, Andy Barksdale, among other BancorpSouth employees, including Joe McNeese, Cynthia Thomas, Clyde Guyse, have served on many committees and actively attend events throughout the year. Joe Robertson keeps a watchful eye to make sure Associate members are represented within the Association.
HouseWorks – Jeff Salmons and Bob Dodson have been members for years as Jeff has used each year to increase his participation. Jeff currently serves as the Builder Vice President on the Executive Committee. HouseWorks includes HBAJ in their marketing efforts to increase builder referrals for remodel projects and homeowner remodel projects. Houseworks has grown their business to be Insurance Restoration Specialists, working closely with all insurance companies to provide fire, water and wind damaged home owners with one-stop-shop solutions. They have locations that serve customers in the metropolitan Jackson, Starkville and Meridian areas.
Mississippi Housing Institute – Burlon Crocker and MHI are dedicated to promoting professionalism in our industry through continuing education and improved customer relations. To this end, MHI sponsors educational programs offered by HBAJ and encourages builders to voluntarily join the Certified Professional Builder program.
MMC Materials, Inc. – Stanley Mangum shares the MMC company philosophy about being involved in the industry. MMC has always been a huge supporter of HBAJ through every event, whether big or small. Their representatives consistently attend every meeting scheduled. It is important to MMC that their company be an active part of the home building industry. Johnny Toler, Michael Harkins, Glen Weldon, Billy Ray, Ben Hardy, as well as Stanley Mangum, have been solid supporters of the HBAJ staff and the events over many years.
Trustmark – Lee Mitchell has served on the Board for many years. Kevin Kinkade, Marvin Freeman, Jeannie Barrier, Zack Nordan, as well as other principal members including George Gunn, have supported the Association with their volunteerism as well as financial commitments. The Association would not be the same without the support of Trustmark.
The association is made up of our members, the Foundation is built by our sponsors. Without the physical and financial support of these outstanding companies, HBAJ would not be as strong as it is today.
